GeoInnovatePILE aims to accelerate geothermal energy adoption through innovative driven energy piles. In partnership with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), GreenTAGS by Expert Proiect, and the Romanian GeoExchange Society (RGS), the project promotes patented precast modular energy piles as heat exchangers for sustainable heating and cooling of buildings. These structures offer a fast, flexible, and cost-effective solution for implementing shallow geothermal systems and creation of local renewable energy sources.
GeoInnovatePILE promotes the use of innovative shallow geothermal energy systems for heating and cooling of buildings. The DEP (Driven Energy Pile) technology, patented by NTNU, enables the extraction of geothermal energy without the need for drilling, making it accessible and cost-effective. By fostering the implementation of this innovative solution, the project aims to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and contribute to lowering carbon emissions, supporting Europe’s goals of emission reductions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050.
